The Research Center for Environmental and Clean Technology, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), is proud to announce the 8th International Symposium on Green Technology for Value Chains (GreenVC). This highly anticipated event is a recurring scientific forum held annually since 2016. The 8th International Symposium on Green Technology for Value Chains (GreenVC) will be held under the selected theme of “Emerging Environmentally Friendly Technologies: A Path Towards a Resilient Society”, which highlights the importance of research and innovation advancements in promoting sustainability and addressing environmental challenges.

We coordinately invite all members of the environmental and clean technology community to participate actively in the symposium by submitting their research work and findings in the topics of interest, including, but not limited to, the following:

• Waste Innovations
• Pollution Mitigation & Ecosystem Restoration

This conference aims to equip participants with the latest insights and technological advancements in green innovations for a resilient society. It provides a platform for experts, researchers, and industry practitioners to explore breakthroughs in sustainable environmental technologies, pollution mitigation, and ecosystem restoration. Participants will engage in discussions on cutting-edge research, real-world applications, and regulatory landscapes that shape green technology implementation. This year, the 8th GreenVC 2025 will be held From Bandung, Indonesia on October 15 – 16, 2025.

Speakers

The 8th International Symposium on Green Technology for Value Chains (GreenVC) will feature an outstanding lineup of speakers who are leading experts in the field of environmental and clean technology. Our distinguished speakers will come from various countries and backgrounds, representing academia, industry, and government sectors. They will share their insights and experiences on the latest research, innovations, and practical applications in green technology.

Keynote Speakers

Prof. Dr. Ir Walter de Vries, wt.de-vries@tum.de, is full professor and Chair of Land management at the School of Engineering and Design at the Technical University Munich. His research interests include smart and responsible land management, cadastre and land registration, public sector cooperation with geoICT, land consolidation and rural and urban development. Key themes in his most recent publications advances in responsible and smart land management and land administration, social and institutional aspects in land consolidation, vitality, versatility and vulnerability of rural regions and neocadastres.

Prof. Chengzhong Yu is a leading researcher at The University of Queensland, Australia, specializing in nanotechnology, environmental engineering and energy storage. His expertise includes advanced wastewater treatment technologies, resource recovery from waste, and the development of sustainable solutions for agriculture. His research contributes to improving environmental sustainability through innovative approaches to waste valorization and circular economy strategies.

Prof. Hsin Chu is a distinguished professor at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, with expertise in environmental engineering, water treatment, and pollution remediation. His research focuses on the development of advanced materials and technologies for water purification, heavy metal removal, and industrial waste management. His contributions have been instrumental in addressing water quality issues and promoting sustainable environmental management.

Prof. Stefano Freguia is a renowned scholar at the University of Melbourne, Australia, specializing in bioelectrochemical systems, wastewater treatment, and renewable energy production. His research explores the intersection of microbiology and electrochemical engineering to develop innovative technologies for energy-efficient wastewater treatment and resource recovery. His work advances sustainable practices in environmental engineering and renewable energy sectors.

Dr. Abdul Muhari is a leading expert in disaster risk management and coastal resilience at the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Indonesia. His research focuses on tsunami modeling, disaster risk assessment, and climate adaptation strategies for coastal communities. With extensive experience in disaster mitigation and policy development, he plays a crucial role in enhancing Indonesia’s preparedness and response strategies for natural hazards.

We accept full paper submission of new and exciting findings on the topics of this symposium (review paper or literature study is not accepted). All papers will be peer reviewed prior to acceptance. The approval for which and where the papers will be published is solely based on the editors’ decision.

All accepted paper will be published in: E3S Conference Proceeding: E3S Web of Conferences.

The seminar will be held in Hybrid Format from Bandung, Indonesia. The hybrid format allows for increased accessibility and flexibility, enabling participants to engage in the symposium’s activities regardless of their location.

The symposium’s plenary hall will be placed in the Prof. Dr. Samaun Samadikun Science and Technology Area, National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia, located in northern region of Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.
